So, with the playoffs all done and dusted, we bring to a close another year of gut-wrenching and exciting sports coverage, all done and ready to crown yet another champion for the 2024 - 2025 NBA Season. Well, that is anyone continues to have nothing to say of the Boston Celtics repeating as Champions -- Clearly the best team this year, bolstering a record no one in the league could match. Still there were a couple of surprises.
Let's take the Minesota Timberwolves for example. So, how about that Anthony Edwards?
To begin the last NBA Season now passed, the 2023 - 2024 season saw a very competitive league all vying for top spot in the East and West, respectively with only one team winning over 60 games and 6 teams with 50 or more games, 5 of which came in the West. Again, very competitive year.
So, the Minnesota Timberwolves knock of finals favourite Denver Nuggets to make the Western Conference Finals, for only the second time in franchise history. Of course, as fickle as fans can be, sports cards enthusiasts can be even more easily swayed. Anthony Edwards Rookie Card Blaster Inserts began the year selling for Roughly $60 - $80 in a PSA 10. Come playoff time, as Anthony Edwards soared to new heights of play and performance, his cards began to more than triple its value one bay and not to mention Comps as well. A PSA 10 of an Anthony Edwards Parallel RC began to sell for $180 and above, with auctions for his Flux Blue Cracked Ice RC PSA 10 peaking at roughly $230. is that some news or what?
So, the big question; Is this the by-product of a fickle market place or a new and bonified legitimate investment?
Let's put it this way, what will his rookie card likely garner in 1 years’ time? Exactly. It is likely that the cards will remain up in value, but from an investment standpoint… well, the cards are likely to stay put as far as values go. This is unless he becomes… as they say, the next Michael Jordan, or for more esoteric fans and aficionados… the next Kobe Bryant.
Verdict is in!!
Unless Anthony Edwards propels himself to the height of Legend and lends himself to the GOAT debate, it is unlikely that his prices will soar. For now, hold on to his cards, the investment is worth at least this.
